Successful National Peace & Justice Council (Government of Pakistan) Seminar Held at Islamabad Club

Islamabad – The National Peace & Justice Council, Government of Pakistan, orchestrated a successful National Peace & Justice Seminar today at the esteemed Islamabad Club. Hosted by Nasir Ali Qadri, Saeed Ahmed, Tahir Ashraf Mughal, and Hamayun Iqbal Shami, the event drew a significant turnout, with attendees traveling from Kashmir, Lahore, Gujrat, and Sargodha to participate.

The seminar was graced by the esteemed presence of Mian Abdul Waheed, Chairman of the National Peace & Justice Council, along with Brig. Muhammad Aslam Khan (Retd), Vice Chairman and President of the Rural Development Foundation of Pakistan, Islamabad – RDF, and Mr. Asad Qureshi. Mr. Qureshi delivered an impassioned address, highlighting the paramount importance of peace and justice in society. His keynote speech illuminated the imperative need to foster a harmonious society grounded in justice, emphasizing various governmental initiatives aimed at promoting these values. Mr. Qureshi called upon all citizens to actively contribute towards this noble endeavor, emphasizing that peace and justice are collective responsibilities.

Bishop Samuel Robert Azariah, Director of the Christian Study Center Rawalpindi, advocated for peace among all religions, emphasizing the significance of interfaith harmony and mutual respect as pillars of a peaceful society. Syed Ijaz Hussain addressed the audience, stressing the imperative need to realign society according to the teachings of Hazrat Muhammad (Peace Be Upon Him), accompanied by his wife, Sayeda Massoma.

The seminar facilitated insightful discussions and presentations from experts and activists dedicated to peacebuilding and justice. Notable attendees included Ms. Nasira Tahir, Tahir Ashraf Mughal, Ms. Saima Tabassum, and others. Their active participation underscored broad support for the seminar’s objectives and contributed diverse perspectives to the discourse on peace and justice.

Ms. Saima Tabassum, a motivational speaker at the Qasim Ali Shah Foundation, captivated the audience with her inspiring speech, alongside Ms. Nasira Tahir, who co-hosted the seminar. Ms. Tahir stressed the media’s indispensable role in shaping public perception and advocating narratives of peace and justice. She underscored the necessity for responsible journalism and accurate reporting to cultivate a culture of harmony and mutual respect.

Mr. Tahir Ashraf Mughal, Secretary of Human Rights, extended a warm welcome to all guests, joined by Saeed Ahmed. Additionally, Mr. A.D. Chaudhry from Gujrat and his entire team demonstrated robust support for the event.

The seminar concluded with a collective commitment from all participants to persist in working towards a peaceful and just society. The National Peace & Justice Council reiterated its steadfast dedication to these principles, announcing forthcoming initiatives to advance these objectives.
