The 8th China-Pakistan Economic Corridor Media Forum was successfully held in Pakistan on Wednesday, 20th December 2023. Vice Foreign Minister Sun Weidong sent a congratulatory letter. Ambassador Jiang Zaidong, Pakistani Information Minister Solanji, and Chairman of the Senate Defense Committee Mushahid attended the opening ceremony and delivered speeches. Economic Daily President Zheng Qingdong, Secretary of the Secretariat of the China Journalists Association Wu Xu, and Ambassador to China Hashmi and others spoke online. For the first time, the forum set up a branch venue in Gwadar, Balochistan. The Pakistani National Television broadcast the opening ceremony live.
Both sides stated that the tenth anniversary of the launch of the “One Belt, One Road” initiative and the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor has brought historic opportunities to China-Pakistan cooperation. China and Pakistan will continue to work together to implement the important consensus reached by the leaders of the two countries and promote all-round cooperation. The media of the two countries should further build a bridge of public opinion communication, tell good stories about cooperation, jointly resist false propaganda, and contribute to building a closer China-Pakistan community with a shared future in the new era.
